Battery-run rickshaws can ply the alleys in the capital, and cannot enter the main roads of the city, said DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md Sajjat Ali.

He also urged everyone to remain alert against new battery-run rickshaws being introduced in the capital, while seeking support from all in ensuring orderly traffic management, during a discussion held at DMP headquarters in the capital.
Everyone has to abide by the October 2022 High Court order that allowed battery-run rickshaw drivers to operate in Dhaka streets, but limit the vehicle’s movement to alleys, Sajjat Ali said.
