A 14-member delegation comprising 10 leaders from Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir, along with representatives from four other Islamic political groups, departed Dhaka for China on Wednesday (27 November) night.
The visit comes at the invitation of the Communist Party of China (CPC). The delegation of the Islamic parties are visiting China, for the first time.
The team is led by Jamaat-e-Islami’s central Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher. Other prominent members include Jamaat Assistant Secretary Generals ATM Masum, Rafiqul Islam Khan, Ehsanul Mahbub Zobair, and Moazzem Hossain Helal, alongside Matiur Rahman Akand, Dhaka South City Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul, and Dhaka North City Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin. Additionally, Islami Chhatra Shibir’s Central Secretary General Jahidul Islam and Daily Sangram Chief Reporter Shamsul Arefin are part of the group.
The delegation also includes leaders from other Islamic parties, such as Abu Zafar Qasemi of Bangladesh Khilafat Andolan, Ahmad Abdul Qader of Khelafat Majlis, Musa bin Izhar of Bangladesh Nezam-e-Islam Party, and Azizul Haque Islamabadi of Hefazat-e-Islam.
The visit follows a recent trip to China by a BNP delegation led by Vice Chairman Asaduzzaman Ripon, who returned on November 16. The current delegation is expected to conclude its visit and return to Bangladesh on December 5.
